Oxford will host an Aston Villa XI in their final warm-up match on 4 August before the Blue Square Premier season.
U's chairman Kelvin Thomas told the club's website that revenue from the game will soften the financial blow of the demise of broadcaster Setanta.
He said: "We thank Villa and Martin O'Neill for agreeing to the game. It's a fine gesture from a top club."
The strength of the Villa side is likely to depend on their progress in the Peace Cup in Spain.
