Burnell not in my plans - Wilder

Burnell's services are no longer required at the Kassam Stadium

Former Oxford captain Joe Burnell has been told by boss Chris Wilder that he has no future at the club.

Burnell was given permission from Wilder to play in a reserve fixture for Exeter this week.

The U's boss told BBC Oxford: "He is a player we have told to get himself fixed up for next season.

"We've said he can talk to people. The boy wants to play football and he is not going to do that here. His attitude has been superb and he hasn't sulked."
