Oxford 'not on revenge mission'

Chris Wilder
Wilder has won and lost in his two games in charge of Oxford

Oxford United manager Chris Wilder has said his players will be focused on three points, not retribution, when his side host Salisbury on New Year's Day.

The U's were beaten by the Wiltshire team on Boxing Day in a match in which Sam Deering suffered a broken leg.

Wilder told BBC Oxford the injury must not be allowed to dominate their thinking: "We need to be professional.

"We are all disappointed for Sam, but we have to go about things professionally and be disciplined."

Deering broke his fibula and ruptured ankle ligaments in a heavy challenge by Salisbury's Luke Ruddick.

Oxford lost the game 2-1.
