Hutchinson still fears Oxford axe

Hutchinson has fallen out of favour at Oxford United

Oxford midfielder Eddie Hutchinson believes his future at the club is hanging in the balance - despite the dismissal of manager Darren Patterson.

Hutchinson praised Patterson for still selecting him despite having placed him on the transfer list, but knows he will need to impress the incoming manager.

"I am still on the transfer-list," confirmed the 26-year-old.

"Whether the new manager will still want me in the team I have to wait and see, and just get my head down."

Hutchinson was brought to the club by current caretaker boss Jim Smith.

He then fell out of favour when Patterson took the helm, but Hutchinson says he has no hard feelings towards the outgoing manager.

"I have great respect for him. I wasn't in his plans but he was big enough to put me in the team. As soon as I found out [about the sacking] I texted him.

"I just felt a little sorry for him in the end."
