Oxford United youngster Alex Fisher says he has not given up hope of forcing his way into the first team before the end of the current season.

The 18-year old has been playing for Southern League side Abingdon United this season but is eager for another chance in the U's first eleven.

"Whenever I am on the bench I am in the gaffer's ear, whenever I am training I am trying to bang in a goal," he said.

"The more I score the better my case for a position in the first team."
