Notts County have named Dave Kevan and Michael Johnson as caretaker managers following Ian McParland's departure.
Kevan, 41, played with McParland at Meadow Lane during the 1980s and was his assistant manager - having joined in 2007.
Johnson, 36, spent a total of six years as a player at the club in two spells and is the current youth-team manager.
Director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson will be responsible for appointing the club's new boss.
But the former England manager has been ruled out of the running to take over from McParland.
Notts, who are in fifth place in League Two, parted company with McParland a day after Sunday's 2-2 home draw with lowly Torquay United.
The team were booed off the pitch after surrendering a two-goal lead but are still just four points off the league leaders Bournemouth.
Notts are away against fellow promotion-hopefuls Rotherham on Saturday.
