Notts County defender Michael Johnson says he has been offered the chance to manage the youth team next season.
The 35-year-old started his career at Meadow Lane before moving on to play for Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Birmingham.
Johnson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I've always said I want to stay in football and give back twenty years experience to some of the youngsters.
"That's going to be my niche in the next few years."
Notts manager Ian McParland believes Johnson is ideal for the role.

He said: "Michael's in the process of doing his coaching badges and I like ex-professionals coming into football clubs.
"He is enthusiastic, he's infectious and I think he'll have a good temperament with the kids."
