Notts County have admitted there is a chance they could lose young winger Myles Weston at the end of the season.
The club offered the 20-year-old a new deal in October but the former Charlton youngster is yet to sign it.
Manager Ian McParland told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Myles is a lovely lad - he's always got a smile on his face and has got potential.
"Myles has still got a little bit of developing to do but you want to keep your best players."
McParland has said he is on the look-out to bring more strikers to Meadow Lane.
"I've enquired about a number of strikers to come and strengthen the squad - two or three I can't get.
"I'm not going to bring into the club just for the sake of it - it has to be right."
