Nowland joined County last summer having been released by Preston

Midfielder Adam Nowland has extended his deal at Notts County to the end of the season and promptly been ruled out for two weeks with a hamstring injury.

The former Nottingham Forest player, who joined the Magpies in the summer on a short-term deal, was taken off against Chesterfield on Saturday.

However, assistant manager Dave Kevan told the club website: "It is a shame because Adam has been playing well.

"Luckily, it isn't too serious and we hope to have him back very soon."

Nowland, 27, signed at Meadow Lane in summer 2008, having been released by Preston last January.
