Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Paul Smith has signed a two-year extension to his contract to keep him at The City Ground until 2012.
The 30-year-old is second choice behind Lee Camp and has played just three Carling Cup games this season.
Smith told the club's website: "I think it shows what the club think of me in offering me a contract extension and I was really pleased to sign.
"I like the way the club is going at the moment."
Smith has made 130 appearances for the club since being signed by Colin Calderwood from Southampton in 2006.
He began his career with Charlton, before spending a short spell at non-league Carhsalton before moving on to play for Brentford.
Manager Billy Davies added: "Players want to play every week and Paul is no different, but he has been outstanding in his attitude.
"Coaches Pete Williams and Steve Sutton and the goalkeepers have a great working group and there's a great spirit among them.
"There's no doubt Paul can see and smell what's going on at Forest and that's reflected in him wanting to stay here and be part of this squad."
