McGoldrick seems certain to leave St Mary's this summer

Nottingham Forest have offered more than £1m for highly-rated Southampton striker David McGoldrick.

And the Reds are close to completing a deal for Bristol City's much-travelled forward Dele Adebola.

Boss Billy Davies, who is desperate to bolster his attacking options for next season, is also interested in QPR frontman Dexter Blackstock.

McGoldrick, 21, scored 14 goals for the Saints as they were relegated from the Championship last season.

And with the cash-strapped south coast club still in administration, the Reds hope their offer will be accepted.

Forest have regularly been linked with former Notts County trainee McGoldrick during the past year.

Blackstock, 23, spent time on loan at the City Ground last season and Forest tried to sign the much-travelled Adebola, 33, during the January transfer window.
