Lansbury has played three times since joining Norwich

Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury has extended his loan stay at Norwich City until 16 January.

The 20-year-old was set to leave Carrow Road after Saturday's Championship clash at Coventry City.

He will not be able to play in City's FA Cup third round tie with Leyton Orient on 8 January.

The young Gunner has made three Championship appearances since agreeing to an initial 28-day move to Paul Lambert's Canaries in November.

Meanwhile Lambert says he has no gripes with defender Leon Barnett's charge of improper conduct by the Football Association.

Barnett, 25, threw the ball at referee Simon Hooper after receiving a second yellow card in last week's defeat by Portsmouth and will be made aware of his punishment at a hearing on 22 December.

The sending off means the centre-half will miss Saturday's trip to Coventry.

"Everybody knows it was on camera what happened after the yellow card," said Lambert.

"He's apologised and he's not a malicious player at all, he was always going to miss this one with his yellow card, but the disappointing thing for us is we've got to wait until next week to find out what's happening."

Lambert confirmed Michael Nelson will replace Barnett in the City back four against the Sky Blues.
