Jamie Cureton has scored one goal for Norwich this season
Norwich City's veteran striker Jamie Cureton has warned his team-mates they could be playing for the future of the club over the next few weeks.
Norwich are in the Championship relegation zone with just 13 matches of the season remaining.
Cureton, 33, was at Norwich when they dropped from the top flight in 1995.
He told BBC Radio Norfolk: "Our futures are on the line, I dropped out with the club in the Premier League and have never been back since."
The former Colchester player has scored one goal for Norwich this season and dropped so far down the pecking order under former boss Glenn Roeder he was allowed to go out on loan.
New manager Bryan Gunn recalled Cureton from Barnsley on the day Roeder departed and was immediately rewarded with a goal against the Tykes in his first game in charge.
The striker has been meeting Norwich's young supporters at events during half-term week and admits it is not easy to face them while the team is struggling in the league.
"I have got a hell of a lot of friends here and I get moaned at all the time.
"I know what it means to the whole place, they let you know how much it hurts them." Cureton said.
