Norwich City are anxiously waiting for the results of a scan on John Kennedy's knee injury.
The defender had to be helped off the pitch near the end of the Canaries' 2-0 defeat at Reading.
Kennedy, who is on loan from Celtic, missed three years of football with a knee problem that he suffered on his debut for Scotland in March 2004.
Norwich manager Glenn Roeder told BBC Radio Norfolk: "He really deserved a change in luck."
The 25-year old's spell with Norwich is due to end on New Year's Day, but Roeder has said he is keen to extend that deal.
The City boss has been impressed with Kennedy since signing him in the summer:
The defender could return to Celtic for rehabilitation if the injury does turn out to be serious.
