Northampton's Steve Guinan stands by harsh talk demand
Guinan has scored twice this season, but remains on the transfer list
Northampton Town striker Steve Guinan says he stands by his call for clear-the-air talks after five defeats.
The 34-year-old told local press in October that players and staff needed to get their feelings about the poor run of results out in the open.
Guinan told BBC Radio Northampton: "Look at the results - it hurt a few people but look at the response we've had, harsh words needed to be said.
"Hopefully [three wins] have got us on a winning run like we had last season."
At this moment in time the right deal hasn't come up, but that might be different in January

Guinan scored in the 3-0 FA Cup first round win over Forest Green Rovers at the weekend.
But the former Hereford United, Cheltenham and Plymouth striker admits he is still looking to move on from Sixfields.
"With Leon McKenzie fit, I'll be back on the bench," he continued. "I'm not [even] on the margins, I'm still on the transfer list and I'm still trying to get myself away.
"I've had contact from a few clubs in the past week, which the manager knows all about, and it's just a question of picking the right opportunity.
He added: "I'm on a good contract at Northampton at the moment and people aren't coming up to scratch, which I don't expect them to.
"At this moment in time the right deal hasn't come up, but that might be different in January."
