Northampton Town still want promotion - Dean Beckwith

Northampton Town defender Dean Beckwith insists promotion remains their objective despite the Cobblers' slow start to the League Two season.

Ian Sampson's men drew 1-1 at Bury on Saturday and have managed just two points from their first three games.

"Our target is to get out of the division - whether through the play-offs or, hopefully, automatically," Beckwith told BBC Radio Northampton.

"I think the club as a whole is set up for League One."

He added: "It'll take a lot of hard work but the lads we have here are prepared to put that in.

"There are some good teams in the division this season and Bury are one of them.

"I would say there are probably eight or ten sides who are thinking the same as we are - that they can get promoted at the end of the season."
