Gray is targeting an immediate return to League One

Northampton Town's summer signings have joined their new team-mates at the start of pre-season training.

Striker Steve Guinan and defenders Craig Hinton and Dean Beckwith will all look to stake early claims for places in the League Two starting line-up.

"We have a six-week pre-season period and we'll be doing double sessions all the way," said manager Stuart Gray.

"The most important thing is that, come the first game, everyone is match fit and wanting to play in the first team."

The Cobblers, who were relegated last season, open their league campaign at home to Macclesfield on 8 August.
