Guinan is looking forward to forming a new striking partnership at Sixfields
Northampton Town's new striker Steve Guinan has revealed his excitement at the prospect of a new partnership with Adebayo Akinfenwa next season.
Guinan, 33, recently became the Cobblers' first summer signing when he agreed a move from Hereford United.
"The stature of Adebayo speaks for itself, he is a proven goal-scorer" he told BBC Radio Northampton.
"He's going to be a real handful in League Two because I don't think anyone will be able to get the ball off him."
"With other players in position to add to the goal tally I'm really excited about it."
Akinfenwa netted 13 times for Northampton in their League One campaign that ended in relegation, while Guinan was on target 15 times for Hereford in 46 league and cup appearances.
