Boje has missed the last two T20 games through injury |
Northants skipper Nicky Boje has admitted his side may need to rethink their run-chase tactics after suffering a first Twenty20 defeat of the season. The Steelbacks lost to Somerset Sabres by 30 runs on Thursday, ending a run of five straight victories. "We might have to chase a target again later in the tournament," Boje told BBC Radio Northampton. "So we maybe need to sit down and make sure our plans are properly set out," added the former South Africa spinner. Boje was ruled out through injury for the Somerset game, which saw Northants fall comfortably short in reply to the Sabres total of 163-3. But he watched from the sidelines and reckoned there were still some positive aspects of the Steelbacks' performance. "I thought we did very well in the field and at half time the guys would have been happy to see only 160-odd on the board," he said. "But chasing down targets is all about partnerships. We have the players who can do it, but this time we didn't manage any." Northants remain top of their qualifying group ahead of the two-week break before the Twenty20 Cup resumes at the end of June.
