Northampton Town have signed 25-year-old striker Scott Vernon from Colchester on a one-month loan deal.
Cobblers manager Stuart Gray told the club website: "Scott is hard-working, and the sort of player who can come in and make an impact."
Vernon, who has scored four times for the U's this season, is due to return after the Scunthorpe game on 21 April.
He takes squad number 16, and is available for the visit of Stockport County on Saturday.
