Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton hailed the all-round contribution of his squad to Sunday's 6-0 home Premier League defeat of Aston Villa.
Striker Andy Carroll grabbed the headlines with a hat-trick for the Magpies but Hughton insisted others were equally deserving of praise.
Hughton told BBC Newcastle: "Unfortunately despite scoring twice, Kevin Nolan is in the background.
"We kept a clean sheet which is just as important as scoring goals."
Hughton added: "It was part of a really good team performance, there wasn't a player out there who didn't play well."

Meanwhile Hughton has urged supporters to retain a realistic outlook despite the result at St James' Park on Sunday.
"It won't be like that every week," Hughton added.
"At this particular moment it's about enjoying the day because they don't happen that often."
Newcastle travel to Accrington Stanley in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.
