Newcastle striker Peter Lovenkrands quells revenge talk
Lovenkrands joined Newcastle from German club Schalke
Newcastle United forward Peter Lovenkrands insists there is no talk of revenge ahead of Wednesday's visit of Scunthorpe in the Championship.
The Magpies were beaten 2-1 by the struggling Iron in October but Lovenkrands believes focus should be on the club's own fortunes.
"The team just want to focus on the game and get three points," the 30-year-old told BBC Newcastle.
"I don't think we should be thinking about the fact they beat us before."
Lovenkrands, who has scored 13 goals in 26 games this season, added: "We're on a great run of form at home and we want to keep that going and hopefully we can get back to winning ways and play the football we can at home and get the three points."
Newcastle are top of the Championship, with a four-point lead over second-placed West Bromwich Albion and nine points ahead of Nottingham Forest in third.
The Magpies are currently coping with injuries to defenders Mike Williamson, out for a month, and Fabricio Coloccini, along with the longer-term absence of Steven Taylor.
Lovenkrands believes their presence will be needed during the final weeks of the season.
"We want to have the players for the run-in, it's going to be very important over the next couple of months," said Lovenkrands.
"We want to have the key players back and I hope it's not too serious with Coloccini and we can have him back as soon as possible."
Lovenkrands has scored 13 goals in 26 appearances this season.
