No pressure on Newcastle record - Peter Lovenkrands
Lovenkrands (centre) has scored all 12 of his goals this season at home
Newcastle striker Peter Lovenkrands has said there is no pressure on the players to maintain their unbeaten home record until the end of the season.
The Magpies extended their excellent run with a 6-1 defeat of Barnsley on Saturday, but the Dane says they are focused on promotion.
"It's great to be unbeaten at home but we're not trying to break records," Lovenkrands told BBC Newcastle.
"We're just focused on trying to get up to the Premier League."
Saturday's victory against Mark Robins' Barnsley side saw the 30-year-old striker raise his goal tally to 12 for the season, all coming at St James' Park.
"At St James' we play so well and the pitch is so big that we come alive in a way that we don't away from home," Lovenkrands added.
"It's sometimes so difficult, teams sit back away from home and the pitches aren't always so good.
"We create so many chances at home, so that's probably the reason why."
Lovenkrands returned for a second spell at Newcastle at the beginning of the season having initially joined the Magpies from German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 in January 2009.
