Robinson insists Hamann is happy at MK Dons
MK Dons have had no contact with Aston Villa regarding Dietmar Hamann, according to manager Karl Robinson.
Reports have suggested new Villa boss Gerard Houllier is keen to employ the German player-coach as his assistant.
Robinson told BBC Look East: "I spoke to him last night after I heard about it and he's had no contact whatsoever and is extremely happy to be here.
"He feels myself and the chairman have given him an opportunity and he wants to see this out."
Hamann, 37, agreed a one-year deal to join the Dons in the summer, combining playing and coaching duties, and has featured five times for the League One side this season.
"Gerard Houllier's a very respectful man, I'm sure if there was anything going on we'd know about it," Robinson added.
"It was news to me when I got the phone call last night off a reporter. As I'm aware Didi Hamann's fine, he'll have an MK Dons shirt on Saturday afternoon."
The former Liverpool midfielder, who was brought to Anfield by Houllier for £8m 11 years ago, was not present at Dons training on Thursday, but Robinson insisted that was a regular occurrence.
"He takes Thursday's off because his recovery programme is different from the rest of the players," he said.
"He trains Wednesday and has Thursday off because of muscle soreness ahead of Saturday, so that's why he's not here."
Robinson will hope the reports do not hamper his side's preparations for the weekend's trip to Brighton.
He added: "It's a tough game because they've got some good players. It will be a good game to watch because they are two teams people will possibly describe as the best footballing teams in the league."
