Karl Robinson will not desert Milton Keynes Dons

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson insists he will not desert the club should a big side come calling.

The Dons have seen Paul Ince and Robert Di Matteo both lured away to teams in higher leagues.

Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio: "People always say 'if you're successful will you move on?' I want to stay here. I want to build something.

"This club have given me an unbelievable opportunity and I don't want to let people down."

Di Matteo left for West Bromwich Albion in June 2009 after leading the Dons to a League One play-off final defeat, while Paul Ince's first stint in charge ended 12 months before that when Blackburn Rovers snapped him up.

Robinson's men have made a solid start to the current campaign, winning three out of their four League One matches so far.

And the Milton Keynes boss wants to remain part of any future success.

"I'll never forget this football club and if I'm successful with it, it will never owe me. I'll always be indebted to the chairman and the fans," he said.

"My dream's to get this club into the Premier League. If the club match the ambitions of the fans and myself, I'll be here for a long time to come."

Karl Robinson was talking during a one-hour question and answer session on BBC Three Counties Radio Sport. You can listen again on the iPlayerand hear about his relationship with Paul Ince, what he is reading and why he has stopped wearing jumpers.
