Chris Wyles says 'cocky' Saracens can bounce back

Saracens full-back Chris Wyles says his side will bounce back from their over-confident display in their Aviva Premiership defeat by London Irish.

Last season's play-off finalists went into the break ahead at Twickenham on Saturday but ended up losing 33-16.

"We need to keep the ball and I think we got a bit too cocky," Wyles, 26, told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"But you know, these things happen and we're going to come back stronger, I can promise you that."

The first match of the London double-header was a disappointing outing for Brendan Venter's men, who allowed the Exiles to collect a bonus point.

Wyles says there are areas they can improve on.

"It's about keeping the ball in hand when we have it and not throwing 50-50 passes," the United States international added.

"First half we looked pretty composed, unfortunately in the second half we lost too much ball.

"We talked about discipline with the ball and we tried to force a few plays."

Sale are up next for Saracens off the back of their impressive victory over Newcastle, but Wyles is in confident mood.

He said: "They're going to be a difficult team to play but we're not going to worry too much about other teams, we're just going to worry about what we're doing.

"We have belief in each other, belief in our systems and if we believe in that we'll be good."
