MK Dons boss Karl Robinson hints at more surprises
At 29 Robinson is the youngest Football League manager
Dietmar Hamann may not be the only big name to arrive at MK Dons this summer, according to boss Karl Robinson.
The 35-year-old former Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester City midfielder has a list of contacts Robinson is keen to take advantage of.
Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio: "I'm sure I'm going to get a few phonecalls off a few people saying 'can I come and play for Milton Keynes?'.
"We'll see what else we've got up our sleeve that we can maybe pull off."
He added: "There'll be one or two big, big loan players coming in as well, but we won't get a true reflection on that until later because they have to stay with their Premier League clubs."
Hamann became Robinson's fourth signing since taking over from previous manager Paul Ince, as the club looks to launch a promotion challenge in League One next season.
"This isn't just media spin. I want this club to be successful and I want us to be in the Premier League," continued Robinson.
"Obviously the players who are going to go won't be happy, but I've got to accept criticism from them, but that's just part of my job."
Robinson's shopping spree has been backed by chairman Peter Winkleman, who insists the club are not spending above their means.
He said: "Sustainability is still important but look, I want to be promoted. Milton Keynes needs to be in the Championship.
"Karl's had some very good ideas. My job is to make that possible wherever I can."
