MK Dons sign Lewis Guy on two-year deal

MK Dons have signed former Doncaster striker Lewis Guy on a free transfer.

Guy, 24, was released by Rovers in May and has signed a two-year deal at Stadium MK to become boss Karl Robinson's third signing of the summer.

Robinson told the club's website: "We saw Lewis play against us when he was on loan at Oldham towards the end of the season.

"Our fans will have seen that night that he has the ability to provide real quality out wide."

While the Newcastle youth product has played predominantly as a forward, scoring 18 goals in 148 league starts for Doncaster, Robinson expects him to operate as a winger for the League One side.

He said: "He's played as a striker during his career but we've signed him primarily as a winger and his pace and trickery will make him a real asset for us."

Guy found himself sat on the substitutes bench for much of his final season at Doncaster and admitted he jumped at the chance to become Robinson's third signing since taking over as manager.

"Everyone I spoke to spoke very highly of this club," he said.

"When you look at the facilities, the kind of football they play and the ambition around the place, it doesn't need much selling."
