Lions keen to keep Claridge
Millwall's Steve Claridge in action against Southampton during the FA Cup Fourth Round
Millwall chairman Theo Paphitis has assured the club's fans he will do all he can to keep veteran striker Steve Claridge at the New Den.

Claridge has scored 12 goals this season - seven in his last five matches - and is keen to secure a new deal as his current contract expires at the end of the season.

"He's one of the best signings we've made since I became chairman," Paphitis told the club's official website.

"And we will be entering into discussions with him about a new contract very soon."

Claridge's latest goal came against Southampton in the 1-1 draw in the FA Cup Fourth Round.
