Middlesbrough have confirmed that Gordon McQueen has ended his scouting role at the club.
McQueen, 58, first came to the Riverside as a coach working under former Manchester United team-mate Bryan Robson in 1993.
He remained on the coaching staff until Robson's departure in June 2001, before returning in April 2008 as a scout.
As a player, McQueen listed Manchester United and Leeds United among his clubs, retiring in 1985, aged 33.
The Scotland international, who earned 30 caps for his country, was named in the squad for both the 1978 and 1982 World Cup finals.
