Middlesbrough have appointed Boro great David Mills and former coach Gordon McQueen in their recruitment team.
The duo will work with director Ron Bone as well as chief scout Dave Leadbitter in attracting young players.
Mills, 56, has worked for Newcastle in a similar vein while McQueen, 55, has been involved in media work.
The academy has been successful in producing a number of players for the first team including Stewart Downing, David Wheater and Adam Johnson.
