Mansfield have signed Luton Town midfielder Adam Murray on a three-month loan deal, with a view to a permanent deal in January.

Murray is returning for his third spell at Field Mill, having spent a short loan spell there in 2002 before signing a permanent contract two years later.

The 29-year-old made 50 appearances during his time with the Stags.

He told the club website: "This club is special to my heart. It is like home for me and I'm buzzing to be back."

Murray started his career at Derby County before joining Mansfield for his first spell.

He then went on to play at Kidderminster, Notts County and Burton Albion but returned to the Stags in 2004.

In 2005, Murray joined Carlisle, where he made 50 appearances before spells at Torquay, Macclesfield and Oxford United.

He joined Luton at the start of the current season on a free transfer and has made six starts for the Hatters.
