Mansfield Town midfielder Andy Burgess has been banned by the Football Association for a month for betting on matches in which he was involved.
Burgess, 28, was also fined £500 and handed a three-month suspended ban which will be invoked if found guilty of any similar offences in the future.
The games were in the 2008/09 season when Burgess was at Rushden & Diamonds.
His ban begins on 4 February meaning he misses seven matches for his new club. The Stags say they will not appeal.
