Marriott joined Mansfield in January from Rushden & Diamonds

Mansfield Town goalkeeper Alan Marriott has signed a new contract with the Blue Square Premier outfit.

The 30-year-old has played nine times for the Stags since signing from Rushden and has kept seven clean sheets, conceding only two goals.

"I'm over the moon about it," said Marriott, who lives nearby in Lincoln. "Being rewarded like this is nice.

"It's a fantastic set-up here and the club doesn't deserve to be down in the Blue Square Premier."

Manager David Holdsworth added: "He's bought into David Holdsworth and he's bought into Mansfield Town."
