Luton skipper George Pilkington signs new two-year deal
Pilkington made 224 league appearances for Port Vale
Luton Town captain George Pilkington has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at the club until the summer of 2012.
The 28-year-old defender was handed the captaincy towards the end of the season and won the club's player of the year award, along with four other prizes.
Pilkington signed for the Hatters on a free transfer from Port Vale in 2008.
The former Everton trainee has gone on to make 63 league appearances for the Blue Square Premier side.
Luton boss Richard Money told the club website: "Securing George's future for a further two years is fantastic news for this football club.
"His loyalty to us knows no bounds, and we are extremely happy to have been able to conclude a deal to keep one of the best centre halves this club has had in recent years.
"Rest assured we are working hard to ensure that George is not the only player that commits his future with us over the coming weeks."
