Pilkington joined Luton from Port Vale in August 2008
Luton defender George Pilkington has called for the Hatters to be more resilient under new boss Richard Money.
Town, who were relegated from League Two last season, currently lie fifth in the Blue Square Premier, 11 points behind leaders Oxford.
Pilkington told BBC Three Counties Radio: "He [Money] will implement a few things which will improve us as a team.
"We need to be a bit more resilient and we need to win as many games as we can because we're playing catch up."
Former Walsall manager Money was appointed as Mick Harford's successor last week.
He watched the 2-0 defeat by Rushden and Diamonds from the stands and will take charge of the Hatters for the first time when Rochdale visit Kenilworth Road on Saturday in the first round of the FA Cup.
Alan Neilsen and Kevin Watson, who took caretaker charge of Luton after Harford's departure, have remained at the club and Pilkington was keen to pay tribute to the pair.
"They've done a superb job," said the former Port Vale man.
"The lads have got a lot of respect for them and we've done well under them over the last five or six games.
"They've obviously got to work together now, with the manager, and we've all got to put it right."
