Craig Brewster said he was focusing on playing for Aberdeen |
Livingston have cut the shortlist for their managerial vacancy to three, BBC Sport understands. Clyde manager Joe Miller, Aberdeen striker Craig Brewster and former Kilmarnock manager Bobby Williamson have all been interviewed this week.
The First Division club will make an offer to one of the shortlisted trio next week.
Meanwhile, defender Steven Tweed will leave the club despite having a year left of his contract.
Livingston have suffered a disappointing season after being relegated from the Scottish Premier League last season.
They lie in sixth place going into the final game of the season and that led to the dismissal this month of John Robertson.

Former Motherwell manager Terry Butcher was linked with the job but this week chose to move to Brentford.
Ex-Hearts head coach Graham Rix put his name forward.
But Livi chairman Pearse Flynn is an admirer of what Miller has achieved on a shoestring budget at Broadwood.
And he is also thought to be interested in persuading veteran Brewster to return to management after his sacking by Dundee United.
Speculation has suggested that Flynn would like to team Brewster up with former Celtic defender Jackie McNamara, who is out of contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer.
Brewster, who had a successful spell in charge of Inverness Caley Thistle, told BBC Sport: "It's flattering to be linked with the job. I'm happy at Aberdeen, but you never know what comes next in football.
"I can stay on next season here, but I'm not the type to draw a salary unless I feel I can justify it.
"So I'll make a decision shortly on what to do next."
