Chris Travers dismisses return to Lincoln City board

Former vice-chairman Chris Travers has distanced himself from calls for his re-appointment to Lincoln City's board as chairman at a forthcoming EGM.

It has been called by shareholders seeking a vote of no confidence in the current board and chairman Bob Dorrian, and for him to be replaced by Travers.

Travers told BBC Lincolnshire: "I had no knowledge I would be the subject of a motion to return me to the board.

"I find it discourteous, amateurish and something I want nothing to do with."

Travers, who stood down as vice-chairman in June for business reasons, said he only learned officially of the proposed motion to restore him to the Imps' board when he received the papers notifying him of the EGM which is to be held on Thursday, 21 July.

He added: "I've made it clear that I don't want to return to the board as part of this proposal and I do not intend to support any of the resolutions put forward.

"From my point of view there is nothing constructive or positive to add to what the current board is trying to do, merely a series of resolutions to remove members from the board but nothing to replace them with directors or investors who may take the club forward."
