Lincoln City vice-chairman Chris Travers has stood down from the board of directors for business reasons.

Travers, who took up the post in July 2010, will remain as a member of the club's youth development board.

Travers declined to comment further on his resignation but said he would also retain his shares in the club.

Chairman Bob Dorrian said: "I'm delighted he will continue working with the youth development board which he was instrumental in setting up."

The future of Lincoln's youth set-up, for which Travers was the director responsible, was secured in May following investment from local businessman Chris Moyses.

It had been feared it would be scaled down or even axed altogether as the club cut costs after being relegated from the Football League.
