On-loan Lincoln City defender Josh Gowling, 26, says he would like to see his spell at Sincil Bank extended.

Gowling joined the Imps on a month's loan from League Two rivals Gillingham.

He told BBC Lincolnshire: "Sometimes it's good to get a fresh start, to go somewhere and enjoy playing football and that's what I've come here to do.

"My manager [Andy Hessenthaler] wanted me to come here on loan and play some games but I'm enjoying it here and if I'm playing regularly I want to stay."

Gowling, who made his first appearance for Lincoln in their 2-0 defeat by Northampton Town, has played 11 times for Gillingham this season but failed to get back into the side after being sidelined by a virus.
