Lincoln City 'will find money' for Steve Tilson

Lincoln City chairman Bob Dorrian insists manager Steve Tilson will have money to spend despite ex-boss Chris Sutton exhausting the playing budget.

Former Southend boss Tilson officially took charge on Monday after signing a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Imps.

Dorrian told BBC Lincolnshire: "Chris has spent all the money this season.

"But as a board, we know that any new manager will want funds to bring in the players he wants so by hook or by crook we will find the money for Steve."

Until his appointment by Lincoln, Tilson's career was almost exclusively Essex-based, but Dorrian does not view that as a drawback.

"I actually think the opposite will happen," Dorrian aded.

"Steve's been in Southend for virtually all his career and he's ready to take on a new challenge.

"I think he's looking at Lincoln as something completely different so I think this will work in his favour and in our favour."
