Lincoln City have extended the contract of striker Andy Hutchinson until the end of the season.
He was one of three scholars given their first professional deals by the Imps in May, when they agreed contracts running until January 2011.
The 18-year-old made 11 appearances last season, all as a substitute, but impressed in pre-season, scoring once.
Hutchinson became Lincoln's youngest ever league goalscorer when he netted against Bradford City in April 2009.
Imps boss Chris Sutton told BBC Lincolnshire: "He has looked exceptionally sharp so far and at the moment he will be pushing for a first team place.
"The reason we gave him six months was a bit a of carrot. There is still a lot of hard work to do, but so far he has done particularly well."
