Lincoln City's Canadian international forward Gavin McCallum says the Imps' pre-season campaign has shown plenty of positives ahead of the new season.
McCallum, 22, scored three goals in pre-season, including a brace in Friday's 4-2 defeat by Grimsby.
He told BBC Lincolnshire: "There's competition for places which is always a healthy thing.
"We've got players with pace so I think the games will be quicker and everyone will be fighting for a place."
The Imps' League Two season starts on Saturday away against Rotherham.
