Imps' Torres faces six weeks out

Torres has made nine appearances for Lincoln this season

Lincoln City midfielder Sergio Torres is expected to be out for six weeks with an ankle injury.

The Argentine, who is on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season, suffered ligament damage in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Cheltenham.

Manager Chris Sutton told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "Six weeks is the normal amount of time it takes to recover from this kind of injury.

"We'd much rather he was fit but this will give someone else an opportunity."

Torres, 25, made six appearances for Imps during an initial one-month loan spell earlier this season.

The match at Sincil Bank against Cheltenham was his third since returning to the club after a new loan deal was agreed with Peterborough.

Lincoln have also confirmed that on-loan defender Joe Heath will be available for the FA Cup second round tie at Northwich Victoria after his parent club Nottingham Forest gave their permission for him to play in the competition.
