Lincoln signed N'Guessan from Rangers in January 2007
Lincoln City say they expect the fee for French winger Dany N'Guessan to be decided by a tribunal.
Leicester have signed the 21-year-old on a three-year deal, but the two sides are yet to agree a transfer fee.
Lincoln chief executive Dave Roberts told BBC Radio Lincolnshire the two parties are "a long way apart" on the valuation of the player.
He said the club has already factored an estimated fee into manager Peter Jackson's budget for the new season.
"We've got a fairly good feel for what we're going to get and a fair degree of confidence so we've already accounted for that in the budget that we set the manager," Roberts explained.
"We've made provision for that in next year's budget because what we don't want to do is hold up the manager waiting for a tribunal, but equally we don't want to be backed in a corner by Leicester in making an early settlement."
