Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson says he rejected two bids from MK Dons for winger Dany N'Guessan last month.
Jackson had previously stated that the Imps had received no offers for players during the January transfer window.
He told the club website: "Dany is a key player for me, it would have been easy to take the money but we didn't."
Last week Lincoln agreed to let Lee Frecklington join Peterborough until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move in the summer.
Lincoln chairman Steff Wright said that that deal was "right for the player, right for the manager and right for the club."
