Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson has said any deal to sign striker Adrian Patulea will have to be permanent.
The Romanian, 24, scored four goals as a pre-season trialist with the Imps.
Jackson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I've spoken to the president of his club but we're still waiting for some paperwork to come back.
"We've found out he'll have to have his contract cancelled in Romania and sign a short-term deal here, so we'll wait and see how it goes."
