Rob Cook has captained Lincolnshire to the brink of the title |
Lincolnshire's hopes of winning the Minor Counties Eastern Division took a blow when no play was possible on day two of their game against Bedfordshire. Rain overnight got onto the wicket at Luton, making it unplayable. They need 10 points to take the title, with their main challengers Suffolk set for a big win over Hertfordshire. Director of cricket Mark Fell told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "It was in our hands, but now if it rains on Wednesday there's nothing we can do." The home side were 32-2 after the first day's play, chasing Lincolnshire's first innings of 308, for which they earned three batting points out of a possible four. Four bowling points are available, one each for the third, fifth, seventh and ninth wicket to fall in the first innings. A win is worth 16 points and a draw four.
