Slade's Orient won three and drew one of their final six games of the season
Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade has signed a new two-year contract with the League One club.
Slade, 49, arrived at Brisbane Road in April following the sacking of Geraint Williams and guided the O's to three wins in six games to avoid relegation.
He told the club website: "Having stayed in League One, we can now move on to longer-term objectives.
"Hopefully we can build the right squad and get the right type of player. I believe that anything is achievable."
Orient chairman Barry Hearn added: "Russ has injected a great deal of enthusiasm and energy into the club over the last month and that's been great to see.
"Players, fans and staff alike feed off that kind of positivity and we look to that continuing over the coming seasons."
Slade began his managerial career with Notts County before spells at Scarborough and Grimsby, leading the Mariners to the 2006 League Two play-off final.
He took charge of Yeovil Town in June 2006 and guided the Glovers to the League One play-off final in 2007 before leaving Huish Park in February 2009.
An eight-month spell at Brighton in 2009 saw Slade lead Albion away from League One relegation trouble, a feat he would repeat with Orient the following season.
