Foxes expect promotion - Pearson

Nigel Pearson
Leicester City are in League One for the first time

New Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson says he knows expectations are high at the club as he strives to deliver a quick return to the Championship.

The Foxes are in the third tier of league football for the first time in their history after relegation in May.

Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "I'm certainly not kidding myself that it's going to be an easy job because expectations are high this year.

"We've got to do enough to get ourselves back into the Championship."

Pearson is not the only person at the club expecting life to be difficult in League One.

Jack Hobbs, who signed for the Foxes on a season-long loan from Liverpool on Friday, believes it will not be easy to earn promotion this season.

He said: "I think it will be a tough season, you can't underestimate anything like that, so I'm just looking forward to getting out there and playing, trying my best and hopefully we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season."

Pearson is under no illusions about the task ahead and what needs to be achieved.

He said: "It's not just about how we play, it's about getting results over the course of the season."
